VIEW MY AWARD-WINNING WORK
During my time at KMOX, our website has twice been named the Best Local Website in the Large Market Radio category by the Missouri Broadcasters Association and our station was honored nationally with the Crystal Radio Award in 2018 for our commitment to community service. On top of being part of a successful team to earn those awards, below are examples of my award-winning video work.
St. Louis Blues own ‘THIS CITY’
- 2020 Missouri Broadcasters Association - Video for Radio
The mobs of St. Louis Blues fans grew bigger and bigger as the team raced towards its first ever Stanley Cup Final victory. The city exploded once it was all over. Myself and one other videographer/editor captured it all in this video.
Inside the Blues Stanley Cup Championship parade
- 2020 Missouri Broadcasters Association - Sports Reporting
There were an estimated 500,000 people in downtown St. Louis when the team marched with the Stanley Cup from the arena to the Gateway Arch. I was inside the parade route to capture KMOX interviews with the players, coaches and alumni.
'Curiosity Museum' creates unique, uncomfortable experience for all
⁃ 2018 Regional Murrow Award - Excellence in Video
The ‘WHEEL OF DEATH’ still makes me laugh. This video was a solo project about a small museum in Alton, Ill. The curator herself was as interesting as the torture and amusement devices she collects.
HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS SPOTLIGHT
I was the executive producer of this weekly series for KMOX, with producer Ben Boyd and host Chris Hrabe. We found athletes, coaches and teams with special stories throughout the greater St. Louis area. The videos were shot, edited and written by me, with Hrabe performing a majority of the interviews. This series has produced multiple award-winning pieces throughout the four years we worked together on them.
Mack Reed is no gimmick, he’s ‘vital’ to the Kirkwood football team
- 2019 Regional Murrow Award - Excellence in Video
Most JV football teams just go for the 2-point conversation after each touchdown because they don’t have someone skilled enough to catch a snap and place it in the exact perfect position for their kicker. Most teams don’t have someone as talented at Mack Reed.
Mehlville girls ‘take the challenge’ as first to join boy’s wrestling team
- 2018 Missouri broadcasters Association - Sports Feature
The girls on the Mehlville High School Wrestling Team said they’re just lucky to have a coach and classmates who support and push them.
High school football team protects city from floodwater
- 2017 Regional Murrow Award - Sports Reporting
As the Mississippi River rose to near record-setting heights, the businesses of downtown Alton, Ill. feared for the worst. Until a high school team answered their coach’s call to help. They were sandbagging heroes.
